Ofelia Gonzalez

Viewing and visitation for Ofelia S. Gonzalez 94 of Lubbock will be today. Monday, January 25, 2021 from 1PM till 8 PM with a rosary to be held at 6 PM.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10 AM at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Gonzalez went to be with the lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born on September 13, 1926 in Martindale, Texas to the late Cresencio and Fidela Salazar.

Mrs. Gonzalez retired from Texas Tech University where she was a custodian for 20 Years. She was a member of San Ramon Catholic Church for over 40 years.

Mrs. Gonzalez preceded in death by a common law husband Joe Rodriguez, her brothers Pedro Salazar, Alejo Salazar, Richard Salazar, Frank Salazar, a sister Lupe (Guadalupe) Ramirez and her daughter Olivia Mora

Survivors include a daughter Mary (Loli) and husband Frank Rodriguez of Wolfforth, A son, John and wife Connie Gonzalez of Lubbock, a brother Jesus Salazar of Glendale, Arizona and a sister Martina Guerra of Piqua, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

According to local and state guidelines, facemasks will be required at all times during visitation and funeral services. Temperatures will be taken upon entering funeral home.
