Maria Rodriguez

Maria Rosa Rodriguez, 70, was born November 7, 1950, in Lubbock, to Jose Antonio & Elvira Ortiz.  She married Oscar Javier Rodriguez on April 15, 2000, in Lubbock and was a home maker.  Maria was a very active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe as she served as a Guadalupana. She enjoyed going to church and speaking to others about her faith. She also enjoyed other things like drinking coffee and watching movies. More than anything, Maria loved spending time with family and attending any family gatherings.

On the afternoon of October 15, 2021, surrounded by family, Maria Rosa Rodriguez was called from this earth.  Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Oscar Javier Rodriguez; her son, Javier Antonio Rodriguez; her daughter, Denise & Kim Coronado; three brothers, Antonio Ortiz, Ralph Ortiz, Carlos Ortiz; seven sisters, Gloria Vigil, Josie Davila, Isabel Hernandez, Teresa Ortiz, Lupe Mireles, Maria Nunez, Christine Ortiz; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Antonio & Elvira Ortiz; five brothers, Manuel Ortiz, Patricio Ortiz, Domingo Ortiz, Jimmy Dale Ortiz, Frank Ortiz

Services for Mrs. Rodriguez will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. A prayer service will be held, 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm the same day at the funeral home. All arrangements were made under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
