Aurora Velasquez

Aurora Velasquez ,89, was born October 10, 1930 in Quanah, Texas to Jose Angel & Felipa De Leon.  She married Hilario Velasquez in Lubbock and to this union were blessed with two children, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  She was a home maker who enjoyed going to church  at Unity Praise Center, reading her bible, gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

On the morning of March 28, 2020, Aurora Velasquez was called to her eternal rest.  Those left to cherish her loving memory are her son, Rey Martinez of Lubbock; a daughter, Diana Mares of Kerville;; two sisters, Lupe Amador, Mary Beceril both of Lawton, OK.; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hilario Velasquez; four brothers, Manuel DeLeon, Trinidad DeLeon, Juan DeLeon, Julio DeLeon.

Graveside services for Mrs. Velasquez will be 12:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2020 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor Ronnie Saldana officiating.  Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00pm at Broadway Funeral Directors.
