Vera Roberts

Graveside services for Vera. L. Roberts, 89 of Peru, Il and formerly of Lubbock will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., in the City of Lubbock Cemetery with Pastor David Jenkins officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Roberts passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 in Illinois.  She was born November 14, 1925 in Colorado City, TX to Ivan and Bessie (Carroll) Strain.  She married Walter W. Roberts in 1946 in Lubbock.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother. She is survived by three daughters, Jo (Bob) Herington, Sue Rule, both of Peru, IL, and Carla Webb of Shallowater; two brothers, Wally Strain of Lubbock and Ocsar Ray Strain of Midland; two sisters, Thelma Elliott and Betty Susan Timmons of Slaton; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
