Raymond Pierre Tutlewski

Raymond Pierre Tutlewski, “Ray,” a beloved father, poppi, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 5, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. He was 81.

Born on March 14, 1944, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Rudolph “Rudy” Tutlewski and Antonia “Eva” Torres-Tutlewski. Ray moved with his family to Kenosha, Wisconsin, during childhood. There he grew up and graduated from St. Joseph High School. In his early twenties, he relocated to Lubbock, Texas, where he would spend the rest of his life.

In 1971, Ray married Anneliese Tutlewski, and together they had a family he was proud of.

Later in life, he found love and companionship with longtime girlfriend Lisa Jennings. Their bond was filled with simple joys and love for life.

Ray’s passion for craftsmanship was evident in his work as the owner of A&R Boot and Shoe Repair, where he earned a reputation for quality and craftsmanship for 25 years.

His love for animals led him to train and breed bird dogs for field trials—where he not only participated but also judged competitions. He won numerous trophies and awards for his craft. Eventually, he expanded into obedience training for all breeds.

A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Ray enjoyed playing, coaching, umpiring, and watching games. He also found serenity in the skies as an amateur pilot.

He enjoyed the simple things in life and with his quick wit he kept everyone laughing.

Ray is survived by his longtime girlfriend Lisa Jennings and her many grandkids and family; his daughters Brandi Tutlewski-Dziatlik (and husband Chris) of Midland, TX; Teresa Tutlewski-Smith (and Mark Dunlap) of Albuquerque, NM; son Jeffery Tutlewski of Ingram, TX; he was “Poppi” to his grandson Matthew Wheeler of Lubbock, TX; “Grandpa Texas” to grandson Justin Olson (and Kayla Purcell); great-grandson Ryder Olson; sister Kathy DiCello of Kenosha, WI; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Eva Tutlewski.

Ray’s legacy is one of hard work, craftsmanship, laughter and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
