Raul Castillo

It is with great sadness that the family of Raul (Rudy) Castillo announce his passing on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the age of 64 years.  Rudy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Ilda Mary Castillo and their children, Bianca Castillo-Woods and husband Terras of Lubbock; Justin Castillo and wife Cindy of Amarillo, and four grandchildren, Madison and Quinn Woods and Joseph and Stella Castillo.

Rudy was a journeyman plumber for 40 years.  He enjoyed playing his trumpet in his younger years and listening and collecting all genres of music.  He never met a stranger, once he met you, you were his friend.  He loved making everyone laugh with his great sense of humor. But most of all, he loved his family time and playing with his grandchildren.  He was a very strong man both physically and mentally.

He was preceded in death by his parents Augustine Castillo I and Maria Louisa Castillo; sister Irene Gonzales; and brother Eduardo Castillo.  He is survived by two brothers, Augustine Castillo II and wife Lupe of Hereford.  Raymond Castillo and wife Oralia of Amarillo; five sisters, Becky Kifer of Phoenix, AZ, Josie Gomez and husband Trinidad II of Amarillo, TX, Linda Soto and husband Isaiah Sr. of McLean, TX, Delia Griego and husband Bernardo of Albuquerque, NM and JoAnn Mercer of Amarillo, TX; and many other family members and friends.

Rosary for Rudy will be Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Broadway Funeral Directors.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with The Rev. Martin Pina officiating.  Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
