Narcisso G. Cantu, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on August 15, 1957, in Sinton, Texas to Pedro Sr. and Agapita Cantu. Narcisso lived a life rich with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Later in life on November 3, 1975, he married Linda Galan in Hereford, the same day he enlisted into the United States Army. Where he served as a maintenance mechanic proudly. His commitment and hard work earned him the rank of Specialist before his honorable discharge on November 2, 1978. His military service not only showcased his dedication but also laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.
Narcisso held a fulfilling career as an auto mechanic. He also proudly owned and operated "Hoglands System for Business," where he sold and repaired copiers, calculators, and other electronics.
His technical skills were matched only by his great sense of humor, which brought joy to those around him. Whether working on a challenging repair or enjoying a leisurely day fishing or camping, he embraced life with a smile and a story to tell.
As a family man, Narcisso was a great father and father figure to his grandchildren, who cherished the time spent with him and the life lessons he imparted.
He is preceded in death by his mother Agapita Cantu; two brothers Eddie Cantu and Paul Cantu; and a sister Sandra Cantu.
Survivors include his wife Linda Cantu of Lubbock; two sons Tony Narcisso Cantu of Killeen, TX and Freddy Cantu of San Diego, CA; a daughter Christine Cantu of Killeen, TX; his father Pedro Cantu Sr. of Amarillo, TX ; three brothers Pete Cantu Jr. of Amarillo, TX, Ricky Cantu of Pueblo, CO and Mike Cantu of Amarillo, TX; five sisters Anita Balderas of Colorado, Mary Helen Zarazua of Lubbock, TX Beatrice Madrigal of Amarillo, TX, Dolores Gutierrez of Hereford, TX and Margie Austin of Hutto, TX; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Though Narcisso G. Cantu is no longer with us, the legacy of his laughter, kindness, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of all he touched. His memory will be cherished by family and friends as they reflect on a well-lived life, filled with purpose, love, and comedic lightness.
Family will accept friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with viewing starting at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral with Pastor Lee Williams officiating. All arrangements were made under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
