Mila Cooksey

Mila Ann Cooksey, 72, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.  She was born on October 13, 1946 in Merkel, Texas to Henry and Eloise Stout. She retired from Texas Tech University after 30 years.  She enjoyed her family, friends and reading Stephen King novels as well as many other authors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Jerry and Stanley, a nephew Wilson Campbell.

She is survived by her son, Toby Cooksey and wife Ursula of Lubbock, Texas; her sisters, Betty Lee of Midland, Texas, Linda Scott of Dallas, Texas and Barbara Lawless of Mesquite, Texas; her grandchild, Teagan Cooksey and fiance Hailey Landin; and her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Broadway Funeral Directors, 1901 Broadway Street, Lubbock, Texas at 2:00pm, June 26, 2019 with visitation for family and friends starting at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm the same morning.
