Michael Ray Green, a dedicated worker for the City of Lubbock in the Water Department, has passed away at the age of 66. Born on October 12, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas to the late Roy Dean & Wanda Green. Michael's life was marked by his commitment to his career and his unwavering love for his family and friends.
Michael pursued various hobbies and interests that brought him great joy. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and cherished the freedom it afforded him. Taking care of his yard was another hobby he delighted in; nurturing his plants brought him a sense of peace and contentment. Michael also adored his dogs and found solace in their companionship. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing the lotto, visiting casinos, and playing poker, all finding excitement in taking risks. Above all, Michael cherished his family and valued every moment spent with loved ones, especiaespeciallyly if it was spent poolside.
Michael's passing leaves behind a void felt deeply by those closest to him. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as three siblings: Gary Dean Green, Kelly Rene Cruz, and Gwendolyn Marie Green. Although they may be separated by time and distance, his surviving family members carry cherished memories of the times shared with him. His daughter, Gwendolyn Sheree Green of Stork, Fl; one stepson, Chad Mapp of Lubbock; his sister Kathy and husband Gary Ware ; his granddaughters, Kayla Green and Kaylee Mapp, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Broadway Funeral Directors with Rev Javier Perez officiating. Friends and family are invited to join together in remembrance of Michael Ray Green's life. The service will provide an opportunity to reflect on the impact he had on those around him and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
