Luis Olguin

July 20, 1959 — August 31, 2022

Lubbock

Luis Olguin, 63, was born July 20, 1959, in Lubbock to Jesse Sr. & Suzanna Olguin. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1980 and later married Yolanda Hernandez on November 2, 1985, in Muleshoe, cherishing 36 years together. He worked as a dental technician for many years before retiring and enjoyed gambling, playing cards, and watching the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed serving in many ways. He was a Guadalupano and often devoted his time as a Greeter for Our Lady of Grace always sharing his smile and friendship to all that came in. His grandsons were his world, he loved spending time with them and especially loved watching them play sports. His family will always remember how he loved family gatherings, often bar-b-queuing and spending time with them anyway he could. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

On the afternoon of August 31, 2022, Luis went to be with the Lord. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Yolanda Olguin of Lubbock; two daughters Ashley Olguin and Amber (Brian) Becker both of Lubbock; two grandsons Abryel Hernandez, Tristyn Hernandez both of Lubbock; his mother Suzanna Olguin of Lubbock; three brothers Frank Olguin Sr. of Shallowater, Jesse Olguin Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona and Daniel Olguin of Oak Cliff; three sisters Gloria Diaz, Helen Olguin and Carmen Barrera all of Lubbock.

He is preceded in death by his father Jesse Olguin Sr.; his maternal grandparents Lucas and Seferina Lopez; and his paternal grandparents Luis Sr. and and Vicente Olguin.
