Justo Garcia Jr.

Jul 2, 1945 — Oct 7, 2026

Lubbock

Mr. Justo Garcia Jr. went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the age of 81. He was born on July 2, 1945, in Mathis, Texas to the late Justo Sr. and Adela Garcia. Later in life on May 2, 1965, Justo went on to marry Mary Gloria Martinez at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lubbock cherishing sixty-one years of a loving marriage.

Justo was known as a hardworking man whose hands and heart were rarely still. A true workaholic and a jack of all trades, he spent his life doing the kinds of work that kept things running and made life better for those around him. He handled building maintenance at cotton delinting factories, welded, painted, worked for Dr. Bryce Fry for more than ten years, and managed the 34th Apartment Complex Building. In every role he took on, he brought dedication, skill, and a steady willingness to do what needed to be done.

Beyond his work, Justo was a family man who found joy in togetherness and simple moments. He especially loved the holidays, with Thanksgiving and Christmas holding a special place in his heart. Those occasions reflected so much of what mattered most to him: family, warmth, conversation, and the comfort of being surrounded by others. He loved to sit and talk with his neighbors, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. His kindness and openness made him someone people could count on, whether for a conversation, a favor, or quiet support.

Justo will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous spirit, and the way he made himself useful wherever he was needed. His life was marked by service to others, devotion to family, and a neighborly warmth that left a lasting impression on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

He is preceded in death by his parents Justo Sr. and Adela Garcia; a son Michael Garcia; two brothers Fernando Garcia and Domingo Garcia; two sisters Janie Venegas and Eva Aleman.

He is survived by his wife Mary Gloria Garcia of Lubbock; four sons Eddie Garcia, Rene Garcia (Crystal), Daniel Garcia (Christiana) and Jacob Garcia (Alex) all of Lubbock; a daughter Rosalinda Rodriguez (Ramiro) of Lubbock; a sister Elvin Padilla of Idalou; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
