Jonathan Rae Garcia Bustamante, born on April 30, 2007, in Lubbock, passed away on April 23, 2026, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. At just 18 years old, Jonathan’s vibrant spirit and gentle soul touched everyone around him in ways that will be cherished forever.

Jonathan was a young man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved gaming, where he could immerse himself and connect with friends through shared adventures. His delight for snacks and drinks reflected his joyful approach to everyday moments, and he could often be found savoring his favorite treats. Jonathan had a keen eye for style, especially in fast, sleek sports cars, and the color red held a special place in his heart, symbolizing energy and strength. Above all, what Jonathan treasured most was the time spent with his friends. Those moments of laughter and camaraderie brought him incomparable happiness and showed his deep capacity for friendship and love.

Jonathan Rae Garcia Bustamante was a soul that shone brightly — a young man whose laughter, passion, and kindness can never be forgotten. As those who loved him gather to honor his memory, they carry forward his spirit, keeping alive the joy he brought to every moment. In remembering Jonathan, we are reminded of the preciousness of life, the power of friendship, and the enduring love that holds families together through every chapter. Though he departed too soon, his beautiful light continues to illuminate the hearts of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by His maternal great grandmother Juanita Salazar Reyna; maternal grandfather San Juan Garcia Jr.; his paternal grandmother Kina Delgado

He is survived by his parents Crystal Garcia and Johnny Bustamante; sisters Ariel Pena, Jasmine Pena, Neome Garcia, Mariah Bustamante and Zaniah Bustamante; Nephews Sebastian Maki Pena and Zayvien Rivera; a niece Zaylee Rivera; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at The Door Christian Fellowship Church (2007 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79411) with Pastor Lee Williams officiating. Burial will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. Viewing and visitation will also take place at The Door Christian Fellowship Church before the service and will begin at 10:00 am.
