Her charisma and warmth were evident even in her youth, drawing people close and fostering friendships that endured.
Jeannie Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on August 29, 1943, in Quenemo, Kansas, Jeannie’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven from threads of joy, resilience, and devotion. She was the eighth of nine children born to Clarence and Edith Rose, and her early years in Quenemo set the stage for a lifetime filled with achievement, love, and laughter.
A bright and vivacious spirit, Jeannie graduated from Quenemo High School in 1961, where she was not only an accomplished student but also an active cheerleader, majorette, and was honored as homecoming queen. Her charisma and warmth were evident even in her youth, drawing people close and fostering friendships that endured.
Jeannie’s professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. She devoted 43 years to the Federal Aviation Administration, where she served as an Administrative Officer Mentor. She earned numerous awards and the respect of colleagues across the nation. Her sense of responsibility and commitment extended to her time in management for the United States Air Force, reflecting her remarkable work ethic and integrity.
But beyond her career, Jeannie’s heart found greatest joy at home and among those she held dear. On August 19, 1994, she married R. Kinney Williams in Hawaii, a union that brought even more love and companionship into her life. Together, they built a family rooted in care and mutual respect. Jeannie's devotion to her family was unwavering—she cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren above all else, creating memories that live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her loving husband, R. Kinney Williams; her sons, Rob Bryan, Kevin Bryan, Trever Williams, R. K. Williams, and Josh Williams; her daughters, Julie Norkett, Tricia Silvey, Lee Trimble, sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Jeannie loved expressing herself through painting on canvas, tending to her garden, playing skip-bo with her grandsons, and filling her home with peanut butter balls and freshly baked cookies. Renowned for her exceptional culinary skills, she found joy in nourishing both the bodies and souls of family and friends and enjoyed hosting their annual Christmas Party every year.
She was predeceased by her father, mother, five brothers and three sisters—a loss she bore with quiet strength and dignity.
Jeannie Williams’ legacy is one of steadfast love, hard work, and a kindness that touched all who knew her. As we remember her radiant smile and generous spirit, our hearts grieve her absence while also celebrating the many gifts she bestowed upon her family, friends, and community.
There will be a Celebration of Jeannie's Life at their home, Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Come and go as you wish-no formal dress code.
