Guadalupe Gonzalez Carreon, born on December 11, 1948, in Chihuahua, Mexico, peacefully departed from this world on December 6, 2023, in Lubbock. He was a beloved individual who touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Guadalupe's passion for cooking brought warmth and joy to everyone around him. For over four decades, he dedicated his culinary expertise to Copper Caboose, becoming a familiar face and skillful cook at this cherished establishment. Guadalupe's talent in the kitchen was evident in every dish he prepared, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to taste his creations. Even more so, Guadalupe loved spending time with his family and although he rarely shared his recipes as they say, he cherished every moment spent with them.
While we mourn Guadalupe's passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Mario M Gonzalez and one sister, Maria Jesus Juarez
He is survived by three brothers: Manuel Gonzalez of Lubbock, Cornelio Gonzalez of Houston, and Oscar Gonzalez of Lubbock; two sisters: Hipolita Carreon and Cruz Rodriguez, both of Lubbock. Additionally, Guadalupe leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will forever carry their uncle's memory in their hearts.
Services for Mr. Carreon will be 10:00 am Monday, December 11, 2023, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Rudy Crasta officiating. A rosary will be held 6:00 pm Sunday, December 10, 2023, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 1:00 pm.
