Visitation and viewing for Freda Mae “Momma” Gilbreth, 84 of Lubbock will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at Broadway Funeral Directors. Cremation is under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Gilbreth passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was born February 12, 1932 in Henryetta, OK., to the late Fred and Ethel Dancey. She married Johnie Gilbreth on May 3, 1953 in Edmond, OK. Mrs. Gilbreth received her business degree, as well as drove school buses for LISD Durham for thirty two years and later worked as a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed her church and teaching Sunday school, also, doing seek and find puzzles, watching the Red Raiders and Cowboys, as well as singing in her church choir. Her greatest passion however was spending time with her loving family.
She is preceded in death by a sister Norma Jean Dancey (1930) and a brother Floyd “Red” Dancey (2001).
She is survived by her loving spouse Johnie Gilbreth of Lubbock; children, Robert Gilbreth of Fort Worth, Cathleen Gilbreth of Lubbock, Mark Gilbreth of Virginia and Fred Gilbreth of New York; Brother Lloyd “Blackie” Dancey of Pasadena; a sister Mary Billingsley of Oklahoma; Five Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren.
