Estevan Saldana, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away on November 2, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on April 20, 1958, in Nixon, Texas, to Louis & Juanita Saldana. his journey through life was marked by hard work and devotion to his family and community. Estevan dedicated his career to West Construction and Fabrication, where he served as a heavy machine operator with pride and integrity.
Estevan was not just known for his professional skills; he was a man of many interests and passions. He loved the joy of barbecuing, often gathering family and friends around the grill to create not only delicious meals but cherished memories. An artistic soul, Estevan found joy in drawing and expressing himself through art. Sundays were special to him—he cherished cruising with lowriders, relishing the camaraderie of like-minded enthusiasts. His love for adventure and exploration extended to his grandchildren, whom he adored deeply. Estevan took great pleasure in spending quality time with them, introducing them to new places and experiences to enrich their young lives.
He leaves behind a grieving family who will miss him dearly. His loving wife, Tany Saldana, who stood by his side throughout their life together. He is also mourned by one son, Estevan Saldana Jr., of San Antonio, and two daughters, Vivikah Lucero and Vivian Lucero, both of Lubbock. His mother, Juanita Saldana, continues to carry the deep love she has for her son; four devoted brothers: Victor Saldana (Lala) of Poteet, Jerry Saldana, Sonny Saldana, and Pablo Saldana, all of San Antonio; and four loving sisters: Maria Montoya (Ruben), Lucy Hernandez (Richard), Olga Robledo (Felipe), and Christina Saldana, all of San Antonio. He was a proud grandfather to eight beautiful grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and laughter during his life.
Estevan is preceded in death by his father, Louis A Saldana; two brothers, Louis Saldana Jr. and Santos Yanes and one sister, Connie Saldana. Their memories will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved them.
A Visitation will be held on November 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Broadway Funeral Directors followed by a Prayer Service from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place at Freedom Baptist Church in Lubbock on November 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM, where family and friends can gather to honor Estevan’s remarkable life and the lasting impact he left on everyone around him.
Though we mourn the loss of Estevan, we also take this time to celebrate a life rich in love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
