Ernest Pina

Ernest Pina, 58 passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 in Lubbock.  Services for Mr. Pina will be 10:30 am Monday, March 11, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton with Father Phillip Psaupil officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.  A rosary will be held 6:00 pm Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 1:00 pm.

Ernest was born June 5, 1960 in Slaton to Gudalupe “Lupio” & Heisquia Pina.  He worked as a machine operator at Lubbock Coop for many years and enjoyed listening to old school music, fishing and spending time with his beloved dog, Chuco.  Above all, he loved spending time with his family, children and grandchildren

He is survived by his parents; two sons & daughters-in-law, Ernest Nicholas & Jennifer Pina, Daniel "DJ" Jansen & Marissa Pina both of Lubbock; other children includes Melissa Gonzalez, Veronica Vasquez, Scott Rivas and their mother Elizabeth Pina all of Lubbock; two brothers, Michael Pina, Gabriel Rios both of Lubbock; two sisters, Christina Tamez of Arlington, Michelle Martinez of Fort Worth; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Amanda Gutierrez.
