Elvira Vargas

April 20, 1928 — October 4, 2021

Elvira F Vargas was born April 20, 1928, in Roaring Springs, the only daughter of her parents Ysabel & Juanita Flores. Elvira’s mother passed away when she was12 years old. She had 3 brothers, Mingo Flores, Trinidad Flores, and Willie Flores who were fought in WW1 and WW2; all three made it home safely from the war. After marrying and raising their families, all three of her brothers have already preceded her into the next life.

Elvira was married on January 3, 1943, to the late Rev JR Vargas who held the office of President of the Organization of Jesus Christ and was also the Sr. Pastor of Iglesia De La Fe in Lubbock Texas since October 1959. They were married for 69 years till the time of his passing in November 2012. If still alive today, they would have completed 78 years married together.

She gave birth to 10 children listed in order from the oldest to the youngest.  Six boy, John Vargas, Joshua Vargas, David Vargas, Rubin Vargas, Eliseo Vargas, her youngest Elias Vargas; four girls, Mary Alice Vargas (died at infancy), Angelita Longoria, Elvira (Vera) Gonzales (deceased October 4, 2013) and her youngest, Mary Alice Vargas (named after her first born).

Elvira F. Vargas was a loving wife and mother, always standing by her husband’s side throughout the years in the work of the ministry and all the while raising all her children at the same time.  She had no regrets of which she would do it all over again without reservations; this is the type of love she had for her husband and her children, as well for the children of God.

Therefore, since the passing of her husband Rev JR Vargas, she devoted even more of her time into making sure that all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were able to know and feel her love for them all. Even though many lived far distances, she did the best she could to try and keep up with them all. Her and her husband’s devotion, love and anointing of the Holy Spirit on their lives caused a supernatural movement within the entire Vargas family, having sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren also called and anointed in the work of the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They’re pastors, evangelist, singers, musicians, operating in the function of the Five- Fold Office Ministry and following in their father and mother’s footsteps. What a joy it has been for her to have seen this in her lifetime!

It was a calling and an anointing that came with great cost and much pain throughout her life; but together with great joy seeing all the lives that have been affected through God’s Spirit with Salvations, Restorations, Healings, deliverances, and Miracles to so many. Elvira rejoiced with all her heart sharing God’s love through forgiveness and goodness to her family and the children of God. Many would come to her and she would counsel them in the ways of the Lord, she would pray for them with all her heart and they would be comforted with the peace and joy of God’s Spirit. This deserves a Hallelujah unto our God!

Elvira F Vargas has always felt she had not done enough for the Kingdom of God, she would state, “I never ministered behind a church pulpit or had a great voice to sing unto the Lord”, but her children would always respond with, “you have been a strong, powerful and successful woman of God; ministering the Word of God to us and to many others, without standing behind a pulpit or on a great platform”. Her children have told her, “You have always been and will ever be the greatest preacher and evangelist we have ever known” and many others have felt the same way about her.

We must mention the one thing that everyone knew about her. She loved to dance before the Lord during church services while praising and glorifying her God for His goodness to her and her family. Elvira was always willing and ready to minister and mentor to the lost, the lonely, the confused, the hurting and many excepted her as their Spiritual Mother with great appreciation and love.

She has invested much in the lives of her children and many others throughout her years and during this past year she shared to her family; she was now ready to go home with the Lord.  Therefore, God has heard her request and granted this day to be October 4, 2021, where she was to be carried by the Angels of God and entered the Glory of the Kingdom of Heaven where she was most likely greeted by her loved ones and those who have preceded her into Heaven. What a Glorious Day this was for Her……!

There is much much more we could share about her life, but we desire to end her Biography with this . . . like lyrics for the song “I can Only Imagine” say; Yes, we can only imagine what it would be like for us all on that day, when we go home to see our Lord and Savior   Jesus Christ…. “IT WILL BE SOONER THAN WE THINK”  With this we all say an Amen and Amen unto God for her glorious life!
