Mrs. Eloisa Martinez Alonzo went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on September 17, 1943, in Leander, Texas to the late Lino and Francisca Martinez. Later in life on May 20, 1959, Eloisa went on to marry Francisco “Frank” Alonzo cherishing thirty-nine years of a loving marriage before he preceded her in death on December 2, 1998.
Eloisa lived a life marked by devotion, steady work, and love for the people around her. She worked in housekeeping at University Medical Center for twenty-five years, giving many years of faithful service through her dedication and care.
Eloisa found joy in life’s simple and generous moments. She enjoyed watering her garden, shopping, and especially buying gifts for her grandchildren, a reflection of the love she took in caring for her family. She remained very active throughout her life. Her faith was also an important part of who she was, and she was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Eloisa will be remembered with love for her hardworking spirit, her generosity, and the quiet ways she brought happiness to those around her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Francisco “Frank” Alonzo; her parents Lino and Francisca Martinez; sisters Ella Carrillo and Irene Gaitan; brothers Oscar Martinez and Macario Martinez; and a granddaughter Angelica Estrada.
Survivors include four sons Ruben Alonzo of Lubbock, Bobby Alonzo (Cheryl), Jimmy Alonzo of Las Vegas, Frankie Alonzo (Beatrice) of Wolfforth; three daughters Celia Bynum of Lubbock, Cynthia Medina of Lubbock and Nellie Estrada (Steve) of Lubbock; a brother Daniel Martinez of Dallas; two sisters Alicia Ramirez of Lubbock and Guadalupe Garcia (Alex) of Lubbock; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren
Viewing and visitation for Mrs. Eloisa Martinez Alonzo will begin 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Broadway Funeral Directors Chapel with a rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Deacon Ramiro Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors.
