David Lloyd Hill, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in Lubbock, Texas, on August 14, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on May 14, 1956, in Lubbock to Earl Lloyd & Glenna Hill.
David’s educational journey began in the halls of Coronado High School, from which he graduated in 1975. His pursuit of knowledge continued at South Plains College, where he earned an associate's degree in General Studies. These formative years were just the beginning of a remarkable life where he would touch many with his passion and spirit.
For many years, David dedicated his professional life to Mrs. Baird's Bread, where he worked as a salesman, bringing warmth and quality to countless homes. However, it was not just his career that defined him; it was his passions and the love he shared with his family that truly shaped his legacy.
On September 25, 1976, David married his soulmate, Joyce Groneman, in Vega, Texas. Their union was a testament to love and companionship that flourished over the decades. Together, they had three wonderful sons, David Paul Hill with his wife Sonia, John Phillip Hill with his wife Candace, and Shawn Patrick Hill with his wife Katrina, who admired their father for his strength, kindness, and unwavering support. David was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who will cherish the gentle guidance and laughter he provided in their lives.
David had an adventurous spirit and a creative heart. He found joy in fishing and was deeply passionate about art, working with leather, and creating beautiful pieces of jewelry. His artistic flair was matched only by his love for nature, where he spent cherished moments by the water, often contemplating life's wonders.
He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Lloyd Hill; his parents, Earl Lloyd and Glenna Faye Hill; and a brother, Gregory Claude Hill. Their cherished memories will be held close in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
