David Garza

David Garza, a devoted father, brother, and cherished friend, departed this world on January 15, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 57. Born on September 13, 1968, in Hereford, Texas, David's life was marked by dedication to his craft and an unwavering commitment to his family.

From a young age, David exhibited a strong work ethic, which led him to pursue a career as a welder—a profession he embraced with pride for the majority of his life. His hands shaped not only metal but also the lives of those around him. A proud graduate of Wilson High School in 1987, David blended his professional skill with a vibrant passion for life.

Outside of work, David found joy in a variety of hobbies. His creative spirit flourished through his love of crafts and coloring, and he delighted in tackling new mechanical projects. Time spent working in his yard brought him peace, a testament to his gentle and nurturing nature. Yet, among all his interests, nothing matched the joy he derived from spending time with his beloved family.

David leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. He is survived by his two sons: Guadalupe Valdez, Johnny Valdez with wife Chloe, all from Lubbock; two daughters, Erica Garza of Lubbock and Mariah Cantu with husband Freddy of Georgetown. His caring nature extended to his four brothers: Richard Garza, Apolonia Garza Jr., Robert Garza, and Steven Garza, alongside his four sisters: Guadalupe Garza, Enedina Munoz, Martha Ramirez, and Mary Ann Moody. David was blessed with eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom he adored and supported throughout their lives.

Though his presence is deeply missed, David is welcomed into eternity by those who preceded him: his parents, Apolonio and Manuela Garza; his daughter, Kimberly Garza; and his brothers, James and Manuel Garza. Their reunion brings comfort to those who mourn his loss, knowing that they are forever connected by love.
