Aurora Jimenez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on October 22, 1946, in King City, California, to Mateo and Angelita Martinez, she left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her through her warmth, kindness, and culinary skills.
Aurora's journey began when she married Alberto Jimenez in 1964, in Wood River, Nebraska. Their life together blossomed into a family filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. She dedicated herself to her family, working as a hairdresser before becoming a presser for Mahon Cleaners. Aurora was not just a diligent worker; she was also a counselor to all who sought her advice, offering wisdom and comfort to friends and family alike.
Beyond her professional life, Aurora was a woman of many passions. She had a knack for making the best Tamales, beloved by her family and friends. Aurora's spirit thrived in travel, as she embraced the joy of exploring new places. Her evenings often found her indulging in her favorite novelas and enjoying the rich tones of Spanish music. Most importantly, she cherished her role as a grandmother, creating delicious meals and cherished memories for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Albert Jimenez of Lubbock; her devoted children: four sons, Albert Jimenez with his wife Anna, Angelo Jimenez, Hilario Jimenez, and Fernando Jimenez with his wife Mariah, all of Lubbock; one daughter, Linda Caudillo and her husband Jimmy of Lubbock. Aurora's legacy continues through her four brothers, Estevan Martinez, Pete Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, and Frank Martinez, all of Lubbock: her three sisters, Ester Martinez and Maria Martinez both of Lubbock, and Angelita Martinez of Abilene. She was the proud grandmother to twenty-two grandchildren and a great-grandmother to thirty-eight great-grandchildren, each one carrying a piece of her spirit in their hearts.
Aurora is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Johnny Jimenez; one daughter, Rita Jimenez; and her grandson, Steven Jimenez.
