Antonio Munoz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on May 26, 1948, in Jalisco, Mexico, Antonio embraced life with a warmth and generosity that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He dedicated his life to hard work, first as a farmer and later as the owner and operator of Munoz Concrete, a business that he built from the ground up and ran for many years before retiring. His boundless energy and unwavering commitment to his work were evident in everything he did, earning him the respect and admiration of his community.
On July 18, 1972, Antonio married Mary Martinez in Lubbock, Texas. Their union was a beautiful testament to love, partnership, and support, lasting an impressive 53 years. Together, they created a loving home, filled with laughter, warmth, and shared dreams. Antonio poured his heart and soul into his family, and he took immense pride in the legacy he left behind.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Munoz; his son, Alejandro "Tony" Munoz with wife Carolyn Perez; three daughters, Melissa Munoz, Andrea Munoz, and Lena Lovato with husband Richard; one brother, Utimio Munoz Cruz. .
The legacy of Antonio also lives on through his ten cherished grandchildren and fifteen adored great-grandchildren, each of whom he took great joy in knowing and watching grow. He would light up at the mention of their accomplishments, always encouraging them to pursue their passions with the same dedication he exemplified throughout his life.
Antonio was more than just a devoted family man; he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His green thumb shone brightly as he tended to his garden, growing flowers and plants that brought beauty to his home. Whether he was tinkering on his vehicles, enjoying a game of bingo with friends, or casting a line for fish, he always displayed a zest for life. The great outdoors called to him, and he loved nothing more than spending time surrounded by nature and his family.
Services for Mr. Munoz will be 10:00 am Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Deacon Joe Morin officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary for Antonio will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 11:00 am.
