Albert C Lopez Sr., a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 1, 2023, in Lubbock. He was born on April 4, 1956, in Abernathy to Luis & Georgia Lopez. He married Epifania Martinez in April of 2004 in Lubbock and led a fulfilling life. He will always be remembered for his incredible work ethic and kind heart. For over five years, he worked as an Ice Cream Man, bringing joy to both children and adults alike. His cheerful demeanor and delicious treats made him a favorite among the community.
In his free time, Albert indulged in various hobbies and interests. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and loved fishing, allowing him to connect with nature and find peace in its tranquility. Additionally, he had a passion for cooking and delighted in preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. Albert's creativity also extended to crafting trinkets of all kinds, showcasing his skillful hands and unique artistic flair. Furthermore, he found solace in music which filled his home with melodies of joy.
Albert's warm personality and genuine care for others touched the lives of many. He leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife, Epifania Lopez. Their journey together was one filled with love, understanding, and unwavering support for each other. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who witnessed their devotion. His children: Albert Lopez Jr. and wife Linda, Randy Lopez and wife Rosie, Brian Lopez, Ray Lopez, Cindy Lopez; stepchildren Rosie Ledesma, Sandy Williams, Joanne Ledesma; nine brothers, Luis Lopez, Danny Lopez, Mario Lopez, Joe Lopez, Gilbert Lopez, Smiley Lopez, Andy Lopez, Bobby Lopez, Richard Lopez; three sisters, Mary Guajardo, Juana Rios, Consuelo Torres; thirty-four grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by four sisters, Juliana Hernandez, Maxamina Avalos, Patsy Perez, Reyes Trevino; and one brother, Juan Lopez
Services to celebrate Albert's life will be 10:00 am Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Father Brian Wood officiaitng. Burial will follow in Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held, 7:00 pm Monday, August 7, 2023, in The Chapel of Broadway Funeral Directors with visitation starting at 3:00 pm.
