Adelmira “Mira” Cerda, 77, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 in Lubbock. Services for Ms. Cerda will be 10:00a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Thanavelil officiating. Burial will follow in City of Lubbock Cemetery in Lubbock under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. A rosary will be held 7:00 pm, Monday, June 1, 2020 at Broadway Funeral Directors. There will be a visitation on Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm and Monday June 1, 2020 from 10:00am to 9:00pm.
Adelmira was born April 3, 1943 in Bronte, Texas to the late Tomas and Petra Cerda. She was a homemaker who enjoyed life to the fullest especially shopping, sewing, and most of all being a loving mother, grandmother and having family time. Adelmira was also a faithful Catholic and a member of the Guadalupanas. Her affectionate love and care she had for her family will always be cherished.
She is survived by a son, John Anthony Sosa of Lubbock; two daughters , Rachel Buckalew of Amarillo & Leticia Harris of Amarillo; seven sisters, Irene Cortez, Ofelia Cardenas, Virginia Garza, Emma Bella, Anita Jaramillo, Irma Rangel all of Lubbock and Beatrice Solorzano of Fresno, Ca; seven grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Armando Cerda and Rudy Cerda; one sister Leonor Barron.
