Charlsey Mae Koerner, 96, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Lubbock. Services for Mrs. Koerner will be 10:00 am Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Shallowater with Pastor Zack Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Broadway Funeral Directors. Family will have a formal visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Broadway Funeral Directors.
Charlsey was born August 4, 1922 in Grayson County to Ellis & Bessie Glenn. She married David E Koerner on September 22, 1950 in Lubbock and in those years of being with him she learned to enjoy things like camping and watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys play. She loved the mountains and her hobbies included sewing, needle work, quilting and being an amazing cook. Above all, she loved hummingbirds and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren the most.
She is survived by her son, Gary Koerner & wife Pam of Shallowater; one daughter, Barbara Peterson of Lubbock; one brother, Kenneth Glenn and wife Betty of Ardmore, OK; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Glenn of Ardmore, OK; six grandchildren, Sherrie Koerner, Annette Coats and husband Joey, Jeff Koerner and wife Kimberly, Timothy Koerner, Kayla Koerner. Brandon Peterson and wife Julie; five great grandchildren, Gabriel Coast, Caleb Coats, Levi Coats, Caleb Koerner and Georgia Mae Peterson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David E Koerner; four brothers, Jack Glenn, Harmon Glenn, Alfred Glenn, J.R. Glenn; a son-in-law, Mike Peterson.
